Thursday 3rd July - Edinburgh
Informal meet and greet, at a hotel on the Royal Mile.
Possible talk on heraldry in modern Scotland.
Friday 4th – Edinburgh
MORNING
• Meet on the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle for welcomes and introductions. Exact spot at the
plaque commemorating David Leslie, 1st Lord Newark, who raised an army in 24 hours.
• Short talk about Bartholomew.
• Tour of Edinburgh Castle.
• Guided tour down the Royal Mile.
AFTERNOON
• Buses to Glenrothes, Fife, via short stop at Parenwell Bridge
EVENING
• Tour of Leslie Exhibit at Glenrothes Heritage Centre.
• Titanic Talk by Angela Young, great granddaughter of Noel Rothes followed by a Banquet at Rothes Halls.
• Display of Highland Dancing after dinner.
Saturday 5th – Glenrothes/Fife
MORNING
Visits to: Leslie House, Leslie Hall, Leslie Kirk, the Leslie Family Crypt, where a short commemoration takes place, unveiling a plaque to 21 st Earl of Rothes on outside of crypt.
AFTERNOON
• Buses to Aberdeenshire, via a stop at Seasyde House to view Leslie portraits.
• Reception and short talk on Leslies of Aberdeenshire.
• Reels, with a caller for instruction.
Sunday 6th –
MORNING
• Church service at Chapel of the Garioch (home to the Leslie Cross).
• Visit to Battle of Harlaw site.
• Barbecue lunch at Leslie Castle and end of Gathering speeches.
AFTERNOON
Buses back to Edinburgh, if needed. (Possible onwards tour of Fyvie, Huntley, Whisky Trail)
