| The End of a Chapter by Shane Leslie |
A new reprint of this old book is now available for your reading. Originally published in 1916 by Chas. Scribners & Sons of New York USA. John Randolph Leslie was Shanes proper name and was the 3rd Baronet of Glaslough, County Monaghan, Ireland. Sir John was the oldest brother of Norman & Lionel Leslie. Norman was killed in France during the first world war and is buried at Armentieres. When John started writing his book he was invalided in hospital and was a member of the British Ambulance Corp. He wrote the book from the perspective of a very upper class England. He attended Eton and Cambridge University. Married to Marjorie Ide the daughter of General Henry Clay Ide.She died in1951 and Shane married an Iris Carola Laing. The book is available from Amazon, Alibris, Abebooks and Barnes & Noble. Cost is around $25 US. |
